Gallery #3 - October 2005 Update

Juniper 4-Sep-05

Blue Mountain Juniper - 1/2 RBST Ram

Three colors of rams

Three of our rams demonstrate color patterns in Soay sheep. Diablo is a self-colored (that is, solid) black; Montana is a light-phase (moorit) mouflon ram; Thunder is a typical dark phase mouflon pattern.

The same three rams showing their horn development.

We have acquired 5 new Soay sheep from the Tracy Teed flock.

Cinnamon 14-Sep-05

Cinnamon is a horned ewe, self-colored black with white spotting. She fades to a very light color in the sunlight.

Aja, Aspen, and Angenlina Sep-05

Above: Aja (left) is a self-colored black, polled ewe with a small white poll spot. Aspen (center) is a self-colored black polled ewe. (Cinnamon is hidden in the back). Angelina (right) is a dark mouflon polled ewe with a white patch at her poll.

Blue Mountain Basalt. He is a very dark mouflon ram, and doesn't appear to sun-bleach much at all. He has a very white belly for such a dark mouflon.

Some of our ewes. We have quite a few self-colored blacks, some light phase mouflon with white blazes, as well as typical brown mouflon. We have horned, scurred, and polled ewes.
